Most known cities from United Arab Emirates (UAE) are Dubai and Abu Dhabi. However these are only two out of the seven emirates. So far I have only been visiting Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The cuisine is a blend of It’s Bedouin, Persian, Indian, and …
Dubai is the largest city from United Arab Emirates. It has many nationalities, due to the expats living there, but is also visited by more than 18 million tourists as per 2024. Dubai simply wants to put itself as the culinary capital which evolve around …
If you happen to be in South-Korea, you might want to consider visiting Jeju island. It is green, full of nature and quite relaxing. In terms of food, we found just a few halal restaurants with the Yemen restaurant being our favourite place to visit. We also visited Innisfree cafe where we had our lunch.
~ Jenny’s cafe
Jenny’s Cafe is located in Seogwipo-si on the southern coast of Jeju Island. We went to this place cause we stayed around this area. Be mindful that the place does not stand out and you will need a car to get here. It is a small-scale restaurant run by one person. I ordered the dinner special, which comes with a starter, main course, tiramisu dessert and a drink of choice. For main you could choose pizza or pasta and vegetarian options are available. I have enjoyed my meal.
We came across this restaurant and did not expect that we would visit this place twice. It is a Yemeni restaurant and they serve vegetarian/vegan and halal options. The place is small-scaled and an approximate of 15 seats are available inside. The halal options are chicken and lamb shawarma, chicken and lamb aqdah, which is slow cooked Yemeni stew with vegetables and aromatic spices. Vegetarians can choose falafel and hummus, but to me the star of the dishes is Fasolia, which is white bean stew that you eat with some fresh-made flat bread. Not only the bread, but pretty much everything tasted fresh, flavorful and all handmade. There are few more options on the menu and I leave it up to you to discover.

You might have seen the brand Innisfree across some Korean skin products. It is a known local brand that uses natural ingredients, such as volcanic cluster or green tea, which are originated from the Jeju island. Innisfree has also a cafe which is made like a glasshouse overlooking the green tea plantation. It is really a relaxing and a good place to have a seat for some nice dessert and drinks. We ordered the vegetarian Haenyeo brunch basket, it was expensive and not too impressive taste-wise, but I had to try. Also another must try is the tangerine iced tea or ice cream. Again, due to its volcanic soil you can find tangerine fruits growing and incorporated in all kind of desserts in Jeju. After all the good stuff, you can visit the Innisfree shop that has a full range of cosmetics.
Hanoi was our last destination in Vietnam and the city was hectic. Couldn’t expect differently when visiting a capital which is also the second largest city in Vietnam, after Ho Chi Minh City. The streets were filled with eateries that have small tables and chairs …
The one place that I really enjoyed from Vietnam is definitely Hoi An. This place should take no more than 1h drive away from Da Nang. Most people take a day trip to Hoi An, but I would suggest to stay at least two days …
Da Nang was my first destination in Vietnam and the first meal I had was at a vegan restaurant. I noticed there were quite some number of vegetarian/ vegan places to visit in Da Nang. Also Da Nang is located near the shore, you could find lots of seafood places, although I did not visit them.

This is such a place that looks instagrammable (although this is not an official word, you know what I mean). They serve vegan and it is all healthy. You can order different ways of smoothie bowl, savoury bowls that come with various veggies and protein ingredients such as tempeh, but also sandwiches and bagels. We came for a lunch and we enjoyed it relatively, being not vegan ourselves.

I do not think this needs more explanation. Turkish cuisine and it is halal. You will find dishes such as kebab, grilled meats, pide and salads. The staff was friendly and the food was made freshly. Little can go wrong with Turkish restaurant in our opinion.
This another instagrammable plant based café which offers vegan and clean food. It was quite a walk for us to reach this place, but ultimately it was worth the visit. This café offers bowls, salad, burger, quesadilla, Slavic and Italian food. The latter probably being added recently on the menu, or at least I have not seen it when I visited this place. Last but not least, they have various smoothies, juices and desserts.
I had dinner at loving vegan and I saw how packed it was with western/backpackers-like tourists. This can only mean one thing, it is an affordable place. They have different type of cuisine on the menu, but if you have to make a choice definitely go for the Asian cuisine. I took brown rice with gravy eggplant and it tasted good. The interior does not look too fancy but it is all about the food.
